I came to counselling and psychotherapy as a second career, owing to witnessing a number of very difficult experiences unfold among close friends and family, including cancer diagnosis, sexual abuse, psychosexual difficulties, psychosis, gender dysphoria, eating disorders and depression, which I felt I needed to learn professional skills to handle.
My interest in psychology and how human beings respond to trauma also stemmed from my work as a solicitor for the Government Legal Department, where I advised on issues relating to war, terrorism, national security and natural and man-made disasters, as well as major transport accidents involving significant loss of life.
In both life and work, I have witnessed the enormous benefits that counselling can bring to human beings in crisis, and now my paramount aim is to assist others in the same way.
